Rubaiya RahmanExecutive Director & Founder

"Every family deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. That's not a program goal — it's a promise."

Rubaiya Rahman founded ASHO in 2001 with a vision to serve New York City's underrepresented families. With over two decades of leadership in disability services, she has grown ASHO into a trusted multi-borough organization.

Under her leadership, ASHO has expanded from a single program in Queens to a comprehensive multi-borough organization with active partnerships with Public Health Solutions, SOMOS Community Care, and the NYC Civic Engagement Commission. Her commitment to bilingual, culturally competent services has made ASHO a model for immigrant-serving disability nonprofits across New York.
